Kay Warner-English is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and Registered Psychotherapist. I have been a registered nurse (RN, BSc., Hons) of almost two decades with nursing experience in general medicine, general surgery, rehabilitation, intensive care etcetera. I obtained my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University. I have worked with individuals, couples, children and families in single solution-focused sessions, brief-therapy and longer-term (12-14 sessions) case conceptualization treatment plans. I take an integrative approach to counselling which incorporates principles from psychodynamic therapy, person-centred therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy and cognitive behaviour therapy. With my extensive nursing experience coupled with my growing counselling psychology education, I have a distinct understanding of how thoughts, emotions and behaviours affect a person’s physiological well-being and vice-versa.
